Gretchen Cline
BS Forest Resource Management '97
Letts, Iowa

Gretchen Cline grew up on farm near Persia, Iowa. She received her bachelor's degree in forest resource management from Iowa State University in 1997. After graduation Gretchen worked for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Forestry Division as an assistant district forester in Elkader, Iowa.

She joined Geode Forestry, Inc., in 2001 as a consulting forester in Swedesburg, Iowa and continues that work today. She assists private landowners with forest management, tree planting, timber sales, and appraisals. She also is a certified Iowa Tree Farm Inspector and has presented at the annual Tri-State Forest Stewardship Conference in Wisconsin.

Cline has also served as the secretary-treasurer for the Iowa Society of American Foresters for 13 years and coordinates forestry meetings with neighboring states. Her interest revolves around water quality issues and making Iowa the best place to live and raise children. She and her husband, Tony ('96 forestry), have three children: Aidan, 8; Finnegan, 6; and Oscar, 3.
